Full Gospel Fellowship Church

“One Church, Two Cities”

Pastor King had a Damascus road experience. God placed him in an isolated place for 3½ years so that He could speak directly to him and he would listen. As a result of his displacement, the Lord said, “You must not leave this place the way you came, or the devil will kill you.”

Pastor King’s response was ‘yes’ to the calling, and he immediately began to study, teach, and preach the Gospel according to (2 Timothy 2:15), “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

In 1995, Pastor King began to fellowship with the Greater Hopewell Church of God in Christ, whereas as a child, he first heard about Jesus under the leadership of Pastor Ronnie Govan. After serving under his leadership, Pastor King began feeling overwhelming unction to start a church. God then spoke clearly and named him “Full Gospel Fellowship Church.”

In 1992, one year later, Full Gospel Fellowship church was established in the front room of his home, with only a few visiting members. After several months of service, God began to push Pastor King to relocate into unchartered territory, “the flat,” which was one of his most significant tests as a leader. FGFC held weekly services in a place of darkness in the hope of bringing light, according to Luke 1:19. Through this adverse time, God was testing the Pastor’s faith. God placed the mantle of relocating to a lonely place on the corner of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. St. (formally known as Dean St.) in Vernon, TX.  He said, ‘Yes.’ He immediately went to work rebuilding the structure of today's Full Gospel Fellowship church.

In August of 1992, FGFC held their church installation service ‘what a mighty God we serve!”  The grace of God was with Pastor King through many trials while rebuilding the church; however, he remained faithful to his assignment. Pastor King still believes there is more work to be done in Vernon. He is committed to being a Kingdom builder and creating an atmosphere where lost souls can have a personal experience with Jesus Christ, our Savior.

Full Gospel Fellowship Church continues to be Kingdom builders in the local community and the nation according to Matthew 28:18-20: “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in the earth.  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Pastor King is continuing his vision and is committed to fulfilling his purpose, and in 2020, he planted a second Full Gospel Fellowship Church.
